AFCA Voluntary Car Service

AFCA Voluntary Car Service (VCS) is a collaboration with Lincolnshire County Council Transport Service Group and Community Doctor Surgeries to provide transport for all with need to attend medical appointments, dental appointments, clinics and hospitals.

We also provide a transport service for those who have mobility problems seeking access to local clubs and meetings. Such as Bingo, Over 60s Club etc.

The Voluntary Car Service (VCS) is for members (membership service of £15 per year or £20 for a couple), £0.65 per mile.
•  Waiting times of 2 hours or more are paid for at £8.00 to cover additional expenditure and beverages.
•  Tolls, congestion charge, ULEZ Airport Drop Off fees, Meet & Greet Fees will be added to the final total transport charge.
•  Driver subsistence allowance for long journeys will be added into the transport fee and quote given time of booking.
•  When booking transport please allow a minimum 4 clear working days' notice

DUE TO DRIVER SHORTAGES AFCA VCS ARE NOT TAKING ON NEW MEMBERS AT THIS TIME

•  Our drivers are all volunteers and where we can fit you in, we will endeavour to find a local driver to take care of you. All drivers are DBS Checked.
•  We are seeking for new drivers to join our service; the more drivers we have the better service we can provide. For those who have retired with a car sat on your driveway we cover the expenses at £0.55 per mile.
•  Our passenger liability insurance is covered by our own insurances. We will provide a letter stating that you are driving for a Voluntary Car Service, should your insurance request one.

Easy

We designed our activity in such a way that anyone in need of transportation services could easily book their ride.

Convenient

We take orders and deliver our services across Lincolnshire. The service booking will be open between 9am–12pm, Monday to Thursday.

The more notice we have the better to secure your transport, there may be an occasion where a car share is available, the cost per journey is the same as a single occupant.

Affordable

On occasions hospital budgets are available. However, for those with personal mobility problems we provide a low-cost solution, run by Volunteers.

This service is for community welfare and to provide a bespoke mobility solution For those who struggle with public transport services.

This service does not replace Bus, Taxi, or lifts from friends.
